Alton Towers wlelcomes over 2.7 million visitors a year, who come and enjoy the range of extreme roller coasters and other theme park rides set in the Staffordshire countryside.
The theme park as it is now came into existence with the first roller coaster, the corkscrew, in 1980 and although this ride has now been retired many others have taken its place.
